Sunday Suites: San Cristobal

This place in San Cristobal, Galapagos, was unbelievable. I loved it here and the host was extremely helpful and kind. Plus that view! Just look at it! Ugh, I'm still dreaming of it. This accommodation made me feel a bit ritzy, but the amount of steps to the top...did not! Thankfully the host helped me out, though she didn't need to. She showed me how to use the digital lock on the front door as well as the washer and dryer in the laundry room tucked away on the rooftop. There was also some laundry lines for drying the clothes in the sun, which is what I did for my clothes.

All these places with two beds made me feel weird sometimes about taking the whole thing for just me, but at the same time, I don't know if there were any other options besides like hostels. Anyway, these blinds were too amazing, I literally couldn't put them down because I slept in SO late the first time since no light came in. Whoops! That big bed was also ridiculously comfortable, I assume the smaller bed would be just as comfy but why sleep in it if I could have the whole big bed to myself?! The pillows are plush too, I need a lot of support in my pillows, and these had it. And the view to wake up to right there? Splendid.

The kitchen and dining area was super cute and I could fill my water bottle straight from the sink because it was filtered. Ugh I was so happy! Bottles of water were so cheap, so it didn't really matter financially, but it was nice to not add to the plastic waste and to have an unlimited supply of water no matter what time of day. There was also a little table, and a bar area...island...what the heck is that thing called? Anyway, I sat there a lot to work on my computer and sip on coffee which was nice. The fridge was decent sized and I could fit all my poor melting Pacari chocolates in there, plus some snacks, drinks, and food I stocked up on while out and about.

This things! This bar, island counter, thing. What is it!? Also just digging the kitchen area design in general, its very modern and sleek and I'm in love with that swirly lighting fixture- I'm swooning. And both of these big windows had wonderful views, this one of the city below and the one in the bedroom of the water. This place also had the BEST Wifi of any place I stayed in the Galapagos. I don't care too much about the wifi, but it was nice to update people, upload some video and photos to my Google drive to have backups from my hard drive, and update my Patreon for those who subscribe to it. There was even a blender and it looks like a rice cooker. I didn't use either one, but if I wanted to I could have made some beautifully delicious, fresh smoothies!!

This is also really well located and the ground-level entrance is kind of hidden, which I was pretty fond of, and there's a large church almost right across from it, which is a perfect landmark for finding it each time. Everything is nice and close by like restaurants, the port, coffee shops, and if you need tour services they're all around as well.

Besides the place being wonderful, the host Alexandra was an absolute gem. She picked me up from the port and drove me around the island to show me around and gave me suggestions on where to eat as well as what to see and do. She also took me to the airport, waited with me to make sure I got through the right security line, and also chatted with me whenever I ran into her throughout my stay. What a true delight.

If you find yourself going to San Cristobal in the Galapagos, you can check this place out over at AirBnb.
